With sandal season fast approaching, KEEN is stepping confidently into Spring/Summer 2025 by expanding its celebrated UNEEK family. The innovative open-air sneaker series that’s redefined hybrid footwear for over a decade. Originally launched in 2014, the UNEEK has earned a cult following for its trail-meets-streetwear appeal, combining the comfort of a sandal with the structure of a sneaker. Now, the Portland-based brand is introducing two exciting new silhouettes: the UNEEK PLT and the UNEEK WK.

Celebrating over 10 years

Celebrating over 10 years of UNEEK, KEEN has continually pushed the boundaries of what a shoe can be. “I started with two problems to solve. To defy industry standards for how a shoe is made and deliver an unencumbered fit” explains Rory Fuerst Jr, KEEN’s Director of Innovation. The result of three years of rigorous development, the UNEEK design is built around a two-cord construction that moulds to the foot. It offers flexibility, breathability and a glove-like fit. It’s also sustainably made, using 100% recycled materials.

Now, the family grows with the introduction of the UNEEK PLT and UNEEK PLT Tassel. Inspired by high-fashion silhouettes, including a recent noir kei ninomiya collaboration unveiled at Paris Fashion Week. These new styles are chunkier and more sculptural, with an exaggerated platform sole. The sole taps into the streetwear-meets-runway aesthetic. While still retaining the airy, open-structured DNA of the original UNEEK, the PLT models offer a bold new statement for urban summer dressing.

For those leaning into performance and everyday versatility, KEEN has also unveiled the UNEEK WK. A sleek hybrid sneaker infused with the brand’s high-tech KEEN.CURVE technology. Adapted from the WK450 walking shoe, this updated version features a slightly flatter sole curve optimised for everyday use. It also doesn’t compromise on stride support or comfort. It’s the perfect companion for exploring the city in style, whether you’re commuting, strolling through parks, or heading to your next weekend adventure.
