Japanese footwear brand Flower Mountain has joined forces with acclaimed British designer Nicholas Daley to create a limited-edition release for FW25. This collaboration reinterprets Flower Mountain’s Iwano 2 model, blending Daley’s distinct design language with the technical expertise that defines Flower Mountain’s performance-driven footwear.

A Design That Marries Heritage and Innovation
At the core of this collaboration is a harmonious mix of materials that reflect both brands’ dedication to craftsmanship and functionality. The Iwano 2 is reimagined using Japanese recycled nylon with water-repellent properties, paired with natural waxed cotton for a combination of sustainability and durability. The shoe’s signature elements include Daley’s signature tartan insole, antique brass hardware, and a Vibram sole featuring Flower Mountain’s signature design. A custom cotton herringbone tape lace system enhances the tactile experience, ensuring both comfort and visual refinement.
Further elevating the design is the intricate panelling on the upper, a testament to Daley’s meticulous approach to detail. This careful balance of performance and aesthetics results in a shoe that feels authentic to both brands, seamlessly integrating Daley’s rich cultural references with Flower Mountain’s technical prowess.
Meeting of Two Design Philosophies“Working with the Flower Mountain team has been an incredibly rewarding experience, merging my design vision with the high-performance fabrics and materials they have perfected over the past decade,” says Nicholas Daley.
Daley, known for his ability to weave narratives of heritage and identity into his work, has previously collaborated with brands like Fred Perry, Mulberry, and Adidas. His commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship aligns seamlessly with Flower Mountain’s philosophy, making this collaboration a natural fit.

A Paris Fashion Week Debut
The collaboration was first unveiled at Welcome Edition during Paris Fashion Week, generating buzz among fashion insiders and sneaker enthusiasts alike. With its unique fusion of Japanese outdoor performance and British sartorial influences, the shoe offers something fresh and unexpected in the footwear space.
Flower Mountain, founded by Tokyo-based Keisuke Ota and Beijing’s Yang Chao in 2015, has gained recognition for its fusion of nature-inspired design and urban functionality. With this latest collaboration, the brand continues to push the boundaries of outdoor footwear, introducing a new dimension of cultural storytelling to its collections.
The Flower Mountain x Nicholas Daley collaboration will officially launch with the FW25 collection, marking a milestone in performance footwear that blends technical excellence with contemporary menswear aesthetics.
